I seem to have always had an affinity towards coastal scenes, and watery subjects have been abundant in my artwork. The Quabbin Series is no different, in fact it is the largest collection of photos with the same subject that I have put together thus far. During the summer of 2011, I first visited the largest inland body of water in Massachusetts. After seeing the Quabbin's grandeur in person, I feel ridiculous for not coming sooner. I spent five school years living in the Pioneer Valley, and only took advantage of this destination for one summer! I guess it serves as a testament to why I should start paying keener attention to people's suggestions. Anyhow...This manmade reservoir is gigantic to say the least, holding around 412 billion gallons of water with over 180 miles of shoreline. I spent as much of my summer biking around this awesome haven as I could, and managed to take over 1200 pictures. Good thing I have a digital camera! The selection you will find here are a few of my favorites...please excuse the drabness of the web's limited colors. Enjoy! |
